Green Color Jadeite
There are many types of Green Color Jadeite in the market. The difference in subtle green is not easy to differentiate unless you are an expert in Jadeite. Anyway, you may have a preference for certain type of green. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Below are so of the green color jadeite you may find in the market. The color may be slightly different from the actual jadeite due to limitation of my scanner.
Emerald Green/ Jadeite Green
Emerald Green and Jadeite Green
The green is bright, pure, saturated and does not have other overtone. The grains are fine and the color is evenly spread. Emerald Green is more saturated than Jadeite Green. It is considered the best grade of Green Color Jadeite you can find in the market.
Apple Green/ Rice Seedling Green
The green is tinged with yellow which is not easily detectable. Its saturation is lower than that of emarld and jadeite green. It is also considered a high grade of green color jadeite.
Poplar Green
The bright green is tinged with yellow, like the poplar leaf in early spring.
Onion Green
The green is like the onion tinged with yellow.
Parrot Green
The green is as bright as the feather of the parrot. It is either opaque or sub-translucent.
Pea Green
The green looks like pea. It is the most common species in jadeite. It is sub-transparent with very coarse texture.
Blue Water
The green is tinged with blue. It is either traslucent or trasparent. If the grains are fine, the green color jadeite is considered of high value.
Spinach Green
Like the green in spinach but is tinged with grey and blue. It is translucent.
Melon Green
The green color is evenly spread and tinged with indio, it can either be opaque or translucent.
Bluish Green
The green color is quite dark tinged with distinctive blue.
Chinese Ink Green
Opaque to translucent, the green color is tinged with blue and black. If the texture is clean, it will be considered top grade of green jadeite.
Oily Green
It is considered medium grade or low grade of green color jadeite. Although its transparency is better, the green is quite dark and tinged with blue and grey.
Frog Green
Translucent to opaque. The green color is tinged with blue and grey.
Greyish Green
The green is tinged with grey and evenly spread, and with poor transparency.
